The covers of various magazines are filled with photos of healthy and successful people who have achieved outstanding results in their lives. In today’s world it is fashionable to be healthy, look good and feel even better! People are beginning to understand that good health is an integral part of a happy life and personal success.
A healthy lifestyle is becoming more and more fashionable these days. Fashion is strong and fast, not always practical, but at the same time omnipotent. Fashion for health is most likely a stable phenomenon, coming to us from the west, but not as fast as we would like.
We can talk about the environment and bad ecology, the material aspect, stresses and other difficulties that we face every day, undermining our health. But I can’t argue with the fact that many people want to look good, which is more about good health. Those who suffer from chronic diseases do not look attractive, so being healthy today is more than fashion. I would like to see a healthy lifestyle become a priority in life and we try to do our best to maintain our good health and that of our family.
Staying healthy is not as difficult as it may seem at first glance, Taking care of our health does not require exhausting daily tension and great effort. It is usually enough to follow some general rules to avoid causing health problems.
First, you need to get rid of all bad habits. This applies to smoking, alcohol abuse, as smoking is very dangerous to our health because of nicotine, which leads to a number of serious diseases, including lung cancer.
Especially smoking causes many risks for women, promotes blood clots, penetrates deep into the walls of blood vessels and narrows them, which increases the risk of phlebitis and thrombosis, increases the risk of ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage, premature birth, cesarean section and delayed fetal growth syndrome. In addition, many smokers suffer from consequences such as unsightly yellow tooth enamel, dull grey complexion, dry skin, sunken cheeks and unpleasant smells.
Alcohol also has bad effects on beauty and is harmful to health, especially for girls and women. Without control, drinking alcohol can lead to overweight, as it is quite caloric and increases appetite. Why? Because 1 gram of alcohol contains 7 kcal. Alcohol, according to most researchers, is distributed in the human body, at 64% of body weight and before it turns into toxic molecules in the liver.
And in addition to this – lack of sleep, it is also bad for all of us. Those who suffer from insomnia or for other reasons, sleep deprivation becomes nervous and irritable, and can acquire various diseases of the nervous system. That is why it is better to go to bed early, at least until midnight, having 8 hours of sleep to feel rested. Fatigue changes a person’s mood, reaction, concentration and even metabolism.
Another important condition for good health is good nutrition. All studies confirm that a varied and balanced diet is a preventive factor against cancer, cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis and obesity. It is not recommended to abuse unhealthy foods rich in fat and cholesterol. This can have more serious consequences than excess pounds, affecting the digestive system, liver and other organs. And, of course, it affects our appearance.
Those who want to be in good physical shape and remain attractive prefer fish, fruits and vegetables, refuse chips, fatty and fried food, carbonated drinks and sweets. It is desirable to eat nuts, dried fruit, crackers, cheese and low-fat yogurt.
Drink plenty of water, if you do not take enough liquid, your body is impaired digestion and absorption of food, as well as blood circulation, delivery of nutrients and oxygen to cells and cleaning of toxins and other waste. Chronic dehydration is also associated with other problems such as hypertension, asthma, allergies, fatigue and headaches.
As you can see, you do not have to follow a strict diet and live with a sense of hunger all the time. It is enough to give up unhealthy food, which is in fact additional, not the main food for our body. A healthy diet is a matter of habit, not a terrible effort to resist various temptations.
Well, once you get rid of all bad habits and get used to healthy eating, you will definitely think about physical activity, which is a prerequisite for good health. According to the WHO, we should allocate at least thirty minutes daily to physical activity, which is available to all, including those who are not addicted to sports.
Be active! And it is not necessary to engage in any kind of sport and radically change your lifestyle, running or aerobics two or three times a week, it will be enough. In everyday life, it is advisable to add more movement by giving up the elevator, leaving the office for lunch or get off the bus, subway one stop earlier, go on foot to the store, not by car, and at weekends cycling, dancing, swimming, working in the garden. All these active activities will keep us healthy, fit and energetic.
And, of course, visit the doctor on time, do the annual medical check-up. See a gynaecologist once or twice a year, see an ophthalmologist once every two years and a dermatologist once a year.
